This project was made as my Master's thesis, the idea behind the task was to understand how car surfaces must be constructed to achieve the perfect light reflexions and aerodynamics a vehicle must have. Everything shown in this page was projected, constructed and modeled by myself.
The 3D model was developed using 3 softwares, Alias Autostudio for the volume and surfaces, IcemSurf to correct the surfaces imported from Alias and to add radius and corners, and Maya for detailing (lights, logos, etc).

Surfaces with edges to show construction

As shown in the pictures, the model was developed using a small amount of surfaces, to keep the assignment as simple as possible.

In Automotive design, only half the car is modeled, as it is almost symmetric. Then the mirror tool is used to complete the model.
